Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance- Industry leader in mission-critical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions that meet a wide range of requirements for search, detection, tracking, targeting and navigation. Basic Function:

Generates system schematics for complex optical systems, using embedded microcontrollers, FPGA's, DACS and ADC's. Works with Software/Firmware engineer in defining system architecture, interconnects, command and control for the optical system. CPLD and FPGA knowledge for defining memory-mapped functions to FPGA architect. Responsible to review customer requirements and translate to system block diagram for Firmware and FPGA engineer. Works closely with mechanical design to define rack-based subsystems, power supply requirements, customer front panel interface and control. Leead development of PCBA layout with external layout supplier. Helps design and develop assembly and testing procedures for new projects and associated procedures. Trouble-shoots existing designs and processes to determine points of improvement. Develops (with other Engineering and Operations personnel) and critiques manufacturing processes and electrical engineering designs. Provides guidance for NPI engineers in transitioning prototypes to production line. Assists Engineering in determining whether electrical design concepts are manufacturable. Actively participates with technical teams for design and configuration of necessary test, development and trouble-shooting efforts to support assigned programs. Responsible for assisting the Estimation group in preparing proposals and quotations for proposed work. Additional administrative, documentation, and technical support to the Electrical Engineering Manager is also expected.

Key Abilities:

Engineering experience in conceptual and detail design of optical systems and components including emembedded microcontroller, DAC's ADC's and single board computers. Ability to execute on project related electrical engineering aspects in coordination with program management to meet program requirements, cost, and schedule.

Collaboration with a team of engineers and subject matter experts to develop rack mount optical systems which interconnect and communicate, with customer command and control.

Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral presentation skills for interfacing with customers as well as peer group.

Requirements:

Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Minimum of 1-5 years of relevant hands-on experience in design and analysis.

Experience in fabricating, integrating, and qualifying designs to requirements.

Experience in optical systems is preferred.
