Lead Electrical Engineer
Position Summary:
The incumbent reports to the Engineering and Reliability Sr. Manager. The incumbent receives direction in the form of broadly defined objectives. Responsibilities include meeting team objectives in safety, sustainability, quality, asset management, cost, and team development. Incumbent is recognized for technical knowledge in engineering, and works within the mill structure supporting trial work, capital, and daily operations to the purpose of expanding our innovation capability, while providing flexibility and personal/organizational sensitivity. The incumbent provides work direction to other functional team members, co-ops, technicians, service providers, etc.
Expectations:
Provide engineering support and technical guidance on resolution of process and equipment problems and any safety improvement initiative
Initiate, design, develop, and optimize engineering solutions which meet/exceed mill expectations
Provide guidance and support on process and qualification trials and manage engineering change for trial requests
Provide coaching and development to team members
Manage engineering change for trial requests
Utilize lean production management techniques to design and develop improvements to the manufacturing process
Communicate project deliverables and expectations effectively to team members
Develop broadening mastery in technical areas important to the organization
Document work to ensure knowledge is preserved and protected
Facilitate work in accordance of the One K-C Behaviors
Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's in a related engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Requires a minimum of three to five years of relevant engineering experience in a variety of mill and staff assignments. Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment is essential
Broad knowledge and significant experience in the technical and operations areas and a working knowledge of multi-functional issues
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Understand fundamentals of hardware and software standards, development and management, and application of basic control concepts to typical manufacturing and converting applications
Development of a new hardware design or major modification
Specification development, design review, checkout, and start up for projects
Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical) systems designs into manufacturing and converting equipment to maintain human safety during operation
Development and endorsement of P&ID of software design
AC/DC drives design and control
Problem identification, problem solving methodology
Laws and government regulations
Process control systems
Knowledge and experience with Rockwell ControlLogix, and Rockwell PowerFlex Drives desired
