The Cost Estimator plays a critical role within the company as part of a team who will be responsible for the overall project cost estimate and directly supporting projects in the areas of estimating, cost management, forecasting, and analysis.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Lead the overall estimating process on projects including estimating kickoff and alignment meetings, managing partner estimating teams, estimate reviews and cost/quantity validations. Track status of all requests.


• Calculates product cost, document tooling costs and estimate engineering effort using the standard costing tools.Provides all information to Sales Department and/or Management.


• Ensure that the estimating structure aligns with the project work breakdown structure.


• Communicate risks and opportunities for improvement to the reviewers.


• Monitor, analyze, and work with the project team to control and improve project cost outcomes.


• Escalates review of costing requests that fall outside standard guidelines.


• Review data to determine material and labor requirements for new products.


• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities.


• Validate final financial outcomes.


• Maintain a safe work environment by following good housekeeping and company guidelines for safety; ability to use tools and equipment safely.


• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience estimating, project progressing, budgeting or closely related OR an Associates degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, Finance


• Experience with creating / editing spreadsheets, data queries and presenting data in Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering or Finance
