Core Responsibilities


  • This position is responsible for working with contractors, the business areas and other New Customer Service System (CSS) team resources to identify, document, and test requirements for functional changes and enhancements to the New CSS Implementation. The Senior Specialist will provide analytical support, and supervise tasks and resources to accomplish project goals. The Senior Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert on test case identification and execution for the maintenance of operational excellence and a seamless customer experience for New York and New Jersey customers.

  • Dedicated to enhancing the Customer Experience, both within the Company and externally and demonstrates a commitment to the ideal of developing a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers and improve value for all our stakeholders.

  • Responsible for identifying and executing test cases.

  • Responsible for generating and analyzing test results.

  • Responsible for assisting with test cycle planning and managing test phase completion.

  • Responsible for ensuring all Customer Service regulations for New York and New Jersey are adhered to in functional design development and testing.

  • Responsible, either directly or through assigned resources, for testing and sign off upon turnover of completed CSS changes and enhancements.

  • Makes recommendations (business and technical) to improve applications and implements recommendations to achieve desired benefits.

  • Responsible for working with the manager and enterprise business users to help them develop a better understanding of the future CSS to achieve improved operating efficiency. Required to explain business functionality of the New CSS to business areas via training and discussions as subject matter experts.

  • Responsible for maintaining New CSS system documentation related to training, system change requests, testing, SOX and departmental procedures.

  • Work with auditing and SOX team to evaluate system processes.

  • Responsible for maintaining an up to date knowledge of technology solutions and approaches related to the New CSS and associated applications.

  • Assists in preparation of system justification documentation and provides business case data/analysis for proposed system changes.

  • Responsible for meeting with New CSS Section Managers and Managers to keep them informed of the status of requested system changes and enhancements.

  • Responsible for the implementation and production verification of all system changes and enhancements related to customer addresses.

  • Trains New CSS Specialists on department processes and procedures.

  • Participates in the Company's emergency management processes and storm plans as required.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree And 3 years of related work experience. Or

  • Associate's Degree And 4 years of related work experience. Or

  • High School Diploma/GED And 5 years of related work experience

Required Work Experience


  • Related work experience must include experience in at least one of the following functional areas: Customer Accounting, Customer Service and Support Operations, Customer Meter Operations, Regulatory/Compliance, engineering, Information Technology (IT), Program Management, Implementation Consulting, or a related organization and/or field. Required

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization. Required

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Windows environments and Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). Required

  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines. Required

  • Must be able to work effectively with all company departments, various levels of management and third party vendors. Required

  • Must be able to organize and plan workloads for projects and employees. Required

  • Must have strong analytical, technical and interpersonal skills. Required

  • Must have experience in technical writing and experience in developing systems specifications. Required

  • Experience with Customer Service processes is preferred. Preferred

  • Experience with test script creation and execution preferred. Pref

Licenses & Certifications

  • Driver's License Required

Other Physical Demands


  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.

  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed.

  • Must be able to provide off hours support as required.
