The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Systems Control Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading cross functional team of maintenance technicians in areas such as develop, test, diagnose and modify programs for microprocessor-based manufacturing systems and quality analysis equipment. 


• Implementing by writing machine programs for programmable controllers (PLCs). 


• Determining … Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments using repair parts or correcting existing parts.


• Supporting maintenance team by assisting in mechanical repair and troubleshooting.


• Creating by making program modifications and troubleshoot programs.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Two-year degree in Systems Controls or equivalent field of study, or higher (completed and verified prior to start)


• A strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and 3 years’ experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Drives, and components.


• Experience with Siemens Step7 PLCs, Drives, and components.


• Comfortable with the use and troubleshooting of personal computers running Windows 10


• Comfortable working with 480VAC and 700VDC electrical systems

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international]

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
