PURPOSE OF POSITION

Ensure that all phases of filter production are productive, including overseeing other employees. This position is to provide a principal point of contact to the facility for day-to-day product quality. The position is responsible to oversee the Quality Department team daily operations. The position will also assist the Senior Quality Manager and all staff with production problem solving, and assuring the quality of the product shipped.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES


  • Ensure employees are working in a safe manner by adhering to all safety regulations.

  • Confirm department Quality Management System is up-to-date and applied.

  • Ensure department personnel are adequately trained in filter verification techniques.

  • Provide support by communicating and training on filter and material non-conformance identification.

  • Gather and record production/scrap records from all production lines and provide initial basic analysis.

  • Receive, track and monitor customer returned and production non-conforming materials through disposition.

  • Inspect filters and filter packaging at various stages of production, documenting needs for correction as necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide basic analysis on non-conforming product.

  • Assist Senior Quality Manager to ensure that production is making filters according to company specifications.

  • Responsible for ensuring Quality Auditors apply company specifications.

  • Make sure department employees are continuously productive.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior work experience and leading employees experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Must be able to read, interpret and apply product specifications.

  • Must be able to use basic measurement tools accurately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS


  • May be required to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Safety glasses are required at all times to protect against dust and particles.

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes and dust particles.

  • Must be able to withstand both hot and cold environments depending on current weather conditions.

  • Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
