Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and control the activities of the plant operations and maintenance functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems and grounds of this hospital in an operative and safe working condition.
Implements the maintenance program to ensure uninterrupted operation of the entire physical plant.
Provides maintenance repair work, alterations, remodeling, minor construction and the checkout, installation, and servicing of mechanical and electrical equipment and building systems.
Responds to emergency situations.
Oversees preventative maintenance on a variety of hospital equipment.
Maintains and records logs and checklists on a routine basis.
Ensures areas are kept clean at all times.
Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
Assists in formulating the budget.
Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all JCAHO, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.
Ability to work independently and confront hospital problems in an emergency.
Possesses a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety.
Required Qualifications
1st Class Engineer license
Mechanical Journeyman license
3+ years of building maintenance experience
High school graduate or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Hospital Maintenance experience preferred.
Familiarity with construction processes and codes is a plus.
