Manager, North American Claims Operations Group at Allied World in Farmington, Connecticut

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction of the VP Claims Operations Group, oversees day to day administrative processes in the Claims Operations department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs all managerial duties required for the effective management of direct reports.  Participates in hiring Claims Assistants.  Provides or coordinates Claims Operations training.  


• Works with the VP Claims Operations Group to develop, enhance and document processes, workflows and system functionality supportive of company objectives and compliance requirements, primarily, but not limited to, claims setups for all lines of business. 


• Assists in other department and company projects as appropriate.


• Assists with Claims Operations tasks as needed to ensure turnaround time is met daily.


• Provides backup support to the VP Claims Operations Group.

• College degree or 5-7 years related work experience. Previous supervisory experience.


• Strong leadership and communication skills. 


• Computer proficiency, especially with windows and web-based applications. 


• Organized and detail oriented. 


• Prior insurance experience preferred.


• Train new operations and technical staff.


• Multitask and work independently and problem solve.
