Bridge House is a small stabilization and assessment residential program for adults (ages 18-55) struggling with mental health illness and/or substance abuse issues. We are located in a peaceful and beautiful setting in Farmington, Utah. Primary Responsibilities
Assisting in maintenance of Bridge Houses buildings as well as cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding the house.
Job Duties
Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.
Cut lawn using hand, power, or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others.
Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides.
Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling.
Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties.
Sweep walkway of debris.
Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
Assist Facilities Maintenance Manager in performing minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.
Install lawn furniture.
Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and furniture.
Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.
Assist housekeeping staff in maintaining and cleaning offices, common areas, resident rooms, and restrooms.
Gather and empty trash, litter as needed.
Care for outdoor parking lot and grounds by weeding, trimming and other work needed, following planned landscaping designs.
Occasional moving of furniture and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance, inspect, operate, and test equipment to determine when and what is needed and how to correct; i.e. repair under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Make adjustments to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems as needed under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Paint and repair walls, doors, floors, woodwork, and other parts of building structures as needed under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Experience in maintenance or repair field work preferred.
Valid driver license and clean driving record required for operating company vehicles.
Ability to pass background check.
Familiarity with common construction tools.
Familiarity with mechanical equipment.
Ability to learn safety regulations and practice safety precautions while working.
Ability to work in inside and outside environments with sudden temperature changes.
Working outside in inclement weather may be necessary.
Physical requirements include physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking up and down inclines between properties, over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry objects up to 70 pounds, and move heavier objects such as appliances/furniture using a hand truck or pulley.
Must possess sufficient physical stamina for tasks that require sustained physical exertion, i.e. shoveling snow, digging ground, raking leaves, etc.
Ability to work at elevations greater than 10 feet while repairing or maintaining building structures, i.e. roof repairs, etc. using ladders or steps to reach objects.
Learn and perform assigned tasks quickly and correctly.
Ability to prioritize projects, work with limited oversight, produce quality work, and meet necessary deadlines.
Must be reliable in attendance.
