Water Resources - Staff Hydrogeologist 1 at H2M architects + engineers in parsippany, New Jersey

Job Description:

H2M Architects + Engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm in Melville, NY seeks an entry-level Hydrogeologist to join our Water Resources team.

In this role, you will work alongside other engineers developing and executing water design work for both public and private clients. You will also coordinate the efforts of internal specialists teams that handle architectural, structural, coatings and electrical/control elements specifically for the water industry.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of Senior Engineers and Project Managers, this candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing assigned field work, well drilling oversight, conducting pumping tests, and construction oversight
• Data collection, compilation, and interpretation of hydrogeologic and water-quality data.
• Providing technical support for hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, groundwater monitoring programs, and surface water monitoring programs.
• Preparing technical documents, plans, permit applications, and reports for a variety of field programs.
• Coordinating with subcontractors for project-required services, including drilling, surveying, and laboratory analyses.
• Performing project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
• Client interaction and teamwork with other disciplines.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in geology or hydrology, or related field.
• 0 - 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience and a working knowledge of groundwater fate and transport modeling a plus.
• Experience with NYSDEC/NYSDOH/NJDEP permitting procedures and approvals a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel
• Experience with AutoCAD, ReVit and BIM a plus.
• Experience with GIS preferred.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record
