Customer Development Leader Americas - Southern Florida preferred

The Customer Development Leader Americas will be responsible for growing and maintaining Mars Wrigley International Travel Retail's business in North & South America.

The primary task of this role will be to manage our diverse, ambitious, and engaging customer base in North and South America, ensuring excellent execution of our brands on the shop floor in line with our marketing principles, supporting the delivery of our leading and lagging KPIs and making Mars brands look they best they can be on he shop floor. Travel Retail is a showcase for Mars Wrigley's brands to the 1 Billion people traveling through airports per year, and the Americas business is a key element of this.

The Customer Development Leader in this role will work with distributors (Ottis McAlister), regional Airport Retailers (Duty Free Americas), and also be responsible for owning the Americas regional execution of plans we have with some Global Customers (Dufry). The role will have a very close working relationship with the Global Customer Development Leader for Dufry, and with Customer Activation for the Americas.

This Role is positioned in the Global Customers & Americas team, operates remotely, and will be expected to be an active, supporting, and supported member of this diverse team - as well as of the NL/ITR unit.

What are we looking for?


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Customer/Channel/Regional Management Experience (5-7 years). Prior Travel Retail experience preferred.

  • Highly competent Negotiator

  • Experience working remotely


What would be your key responsibilities?

Delivers Results:


  • Delivers the expected results on NSV and MMAC on yearly basis for the Travel Retail Americas region.

  • Invests in the customers in line with agreed target spend, customer segmentation and SRM principles

  • Engages the customers in the Americas region behind ITR's Channel and Category Strategy.

  • Engages with our customer to ensure the OTIF distribution of our NPDs and Core Portfolio across the top Airports in the region

  • Supports both Customer Service and the Customer in achieving a high case fill rate, facilitating the connection where necessary


Negotiates Mutual Customer Agreements:
  • Uses high-calibre negotiation capabilities to agree prices, investments level, portfolio distribution, promotional plans, and trading conditions on an annual basis.

Delivers, with Customer Activation, a compelling shop floor vision for the Top airports in the region:

  • Creates shop floor activation plans in line with our Airport and Customer Segmentation - delivering shop-floor experiences that support the growth of our brands whilst adhering to our SRM and ROI guidelines.

  • Activation plans are agreed with the customer & delivered with excellence on the shop floor in our Top airports

  • Engages the Customer to ensure OTIF execution of our Activation plan through their airport network, supported via compliance terms in the customer agreement.

  • Works with Customer Marketing to understand effectiveness of activation plan & make agile changes where necessary
