Data Engineering Manager-Work from home-eviCore at Cigna in FRANKLIN, Tennessee

Job Description:

Remote, Work from home, United States.

This role is part of the Enterprise Data Office and will report to the Director of Analytics Engineering. It is a customer focused role requiring cross coordination between multiple teams. The candidate selected for the role is expected to understand the needs of business and helps define solutions to enterprise-wide business problems through the successful implementation of technology in the support of eviCore's objectives. This role interacts with business executives, vendors and technical staff members to efficiently deliver IT solution.

Duties

Provides expert content/professional leadership on complex Data Management Strategy & Governance assignments/projects. Contributes to data governance and applies seasoned knowledge to ensure data quality. Contributes to data oversight, data usage, system analysis and data retention to assure data quality standards. Collaborates with other departments to ensure data consistency and quality throughout the organization. Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives.

Leads and mentors developers in building data management solutions. Helps remove roadblocks and works on continuous improvement to the teams' workflows and processes. Practices extreme ownership and helps establishing standards for the development teams.

Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders. Focuses on providing thought leadership within Data Management Strategy & Governance but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert.

Skills

• Proficient in Database Concepts and Technologies including MS Sql Server, DB2 and Oracle


• Proficient in Big Data Technologies including Kafka, Apache Storm, Spark Hive, Hbase, Spark, Pig, Map-Reduce, No-Sql Databases


• Knowledge of Data Modeling, Data Architecture & Data Governance concepts


• Experience in working with implementations of Azure cloud data solutions a strong plus (ADLS, Data Bricks, Synapse, ADF)


• Must be able to effectively communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences


• Highly organized


• Self-directed and takes initiative.

• Extreme ownership

• Consistent follow-through


• Health care experience highly preferred


• Management work experience highly preferred

Education

• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or commensurate and relevant experience

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
