Experienced Salvage Machinist - CNC Bore Mill - 2nd Shift - 18878 at EmpirecatP in Mesa, Arizona

Shift : 2 

Start Time :  2:30 pm 

End Time :  11:00pm 

Schedule Days : Monday - Friday 

Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 


Job Summary:


Perform rebuild and repair machining work as required.  Repair or rebuild worn and failed parts requiring welding reconstruction and/or machining.

 

CNC Machinist Requirements: 

•    Must have the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform all set ups and run parts on a CNC Horizontal Boring Mill without direct supervision. 

•    Must have the knowledge skill and ability to edit and write programs.

•    Must have experience with Fanuc controls.

•    Must have the knowledge, skill, and experience to lift 1 to 10 tons using overhead bridge cranes.  

•    Most have the knowledge, skill and ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings in both metric and imperial measurements. 

•    Knowledge of thermal spray and weld build up a plus. 

•    Knowledge of mining equipment salvage repair a plus.

•    Knowledge, skill, and ability to run CNC vertical lathes and mills a plus. 

 


Essential Functions:



  1. Ability to set up machines and run the machining job.

  2. Metal spray or HVC processes as required.

  3. Perform reboring, rebuilding, resurfacing, magnafluxing and grinding as needed.

  4. Prepare service reports.

  5. Plan and control cost of repair jobs.

  6. Maintain company equipment – keep in good clean orderly condition.

  7. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.

  8. Machined parts are within specified tolerances.

Additional Responsibilities:



  1. Maintain quality work standards.

  2. Set up and operate equipment as required.

  3. Perform other related duties as assigned.

  4. Comprehend and interpret sketches and diagrams

  5. Operate stripping and finishing machines  

  6. Work overtime as needed.

  7. Travel to remote locations as needed.

  8. Keep records, provide data and submit reports

  9. Weld structural components as needed. 

  10. Work within and promote corporate values.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:



  1. In-depth knowledge of general machining equipment.

  2. Extensive prior experience in welding and machining.

  3. Appropriate manner, conduct, and grooming adhere to company policy.

  4. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.

  5. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

  6. Previous experience in thermal spray and/or lathe.

Education and Experience:



  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  2. Current driver’s license.

  3. Minimum of 6 months related experience

  4. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
