Quality Technician

Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician documents quality levels by performing a variety of audits to ensure conformance with the company's quality standards. The Quality Technician works with Operations to perform root cause analysis and work on problems of a diverse scope.

You will:


  • Work Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional overtime throughout the week or on Saturdays as needed

  • Understand and be able to apply the elements of the correct/preventive action process, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, and the control of non-conforming material

  • Monitor raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished products to ensure quality

  • Utilize a high level of attention to detail as well as strong interpersonal skills

  • Provide training to operators as required

  • Track a range of metrics and conduct different audits to ensure conformance with company objectives

  • Assist in the validation of processes associated with process and operational improvement

  • Have a positive attitude and a strong sense of urgency in resolving customer and production quality issues

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by work area, such as safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hats, gloves, and steel toe shoes.

  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of hazardous conditions and support Pentair's safety programs by following all established safety processes

You should:


  • Have earned at least a High School diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of Quality experience

  • Have working knowledge of statistical and mathematical analysis along with scientific techniques to aid decision-making

  • Have the ability to speak, read, and write basic English

  • Have competent computer skills to include Microsoft Office

  • Be familiar with quality systems, such as ISO 9001

  • Know how to use necessary measurement instruments and how to utilize them, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and comparators

  • Be able to use Vision Measuring tools and possibly CMM equipment to effectively evaluate blueprints/drawing dimensions

  • Know how to handle complexity in a fast pace manufacturing environment

  • Be able to work overtime as needed

  • Be able to lift frequently 10-15 pounds and infrequently 25-50 pounds, as well as regularly bend and reach

  • Be able to stand for an entire eight hour shift

  • Be able to work independently and also with a team

  • Be comfortable with frequently walking in a warehouse, as well as working around machinery and lift truck traffic

  • Have the ability to identify unsafe conditions and report them to the department team leader, supervisor, manager, or Safety Coordinator

  • Perform other duties as assigned

We like, but don't require:


  • Associate's degree or higher in a quality or technical field

  • Basic knowledge of Kanban principles

  • Basic knowledge of LEAN techniques
