Job Description

• Develop architecture roadmaps for respective application, infrastructure, network and data domains


• Identify architecture gaps and inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvements and alignment


• Understand, recommend and guide improvements/best practices across the infrastructure service layers of the network, storage, servers, virtualization, to include operating and other systems.


• Interacts with internal cross-functional members to better understand system requirements and/or necessary modifications.


• Interacts with development teams to drive consensus on roadmap/gaps that have system wide impact.


• Conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required


• Participate in analysis of technology vendors, including risk assessment due diligence


• Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans


• Investigates new technologies, creating prototypes and proof of concepts to highlight the application of the technology for key product areas.


• Code may be used as samples, prototypes, or in test tools or other supporting programs.


• Using the required programming languages and other technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.


• Completes documentation and procedures for advanced configurations and deployment models.


• Participate in security compliance efforts (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO27001, SOX2)

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Qualifications

* Minimum 10 years' experience as an architect working on both Linux-based and MS Windows-based system platforms
* Experience with network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
* Experience with Microsoft specific technologies such as DHCP server, RemoteApps and distributed remote desktop, IIS, Exchange, SQL server, Windows Server management tools.
* Development experience with 2 or more programming languages
* Experience with at least 2 scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, JavaScript, Perl or python
* Operational knowledge of Active Directory including designing forests, group policies, federation and one-way trusts.
* Operational knowledge of Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, and Debian
* Operational knowledge of Linux technology such as bind, bash, iptables, and systems
* General knowledge of certificate management systems
* Experience with at least one virtualization technology such as VMWare, Open stack, or Hyper-V
* Experience working with cloud providers such as Amazon AWS, Rackspace, Microsoft Azure as well as the services they provide for Orchestration, Logging, Monitoring, and File Storage
* Operational knowledge for one of; IIS, NGINX, Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat, or Ruby on Rails
* Knowledge of RDBMSs such as SQL Server, Postgres, Cassandra
* Bachelors' degree in a technical, engineering or related discipline

Preferred
* Operational knowledge of at least one of; PCI-DSS, ISO27001, or SOX2
* Telephony experience such as TDM or VOIP
* Networking experience with Juniper and Cisco Routers and Firewalls
* Networking routing experience with BGP and OSPF
* Experience with IPv6 and related tunneling protocols such as 6to4, teredo, and 6rd
* Experience integrating Windows services with Unix/Linux environments
* Operational knowledge of creating and maintaining DNS zones in either Windows DNS or bind
* General and operational knowledge of SAN and NAS, as well as network file systems such as NFS, SMB, ZFS, GlusterFS
* Experience with setting up and configuring VPN, such as PPTP, L2TP, IPSec VPN, and GRE tunnels
