About the Position:

Do you like to solve technical problems? Are you effective at troubleshooting? If so, we have a challenging opportunity as a Marine Technician in Tukwila, WA.  This is a key role in our company in which our technicians are responsible for diagnosing and repairing of Caterpillar equipment including removing, repairing, assembling and installing. You will also be ordering parts for the department.  Due to the multiple projects you will be assigned, this position requires planning and organizing skills with a particular emphasis on controlling job costs. You will need to investigate, analyze and identify the problem in order to make recommendations that eliminates the issue.  Our technicians work with a variety of people communication skills that include strong interpersonal skills and effective writing is necessary for utilizing internal software and other software programs. 

Qualifications & Experience Needed:

A high school diploma and a Diesel technology degree or equivalent, hands-on experience is required. 4+ years previous Caterpillar engine (marine or generator) experience is also preferred.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and Outlook. This role requires the ability to stand up to eight hours per day and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping, kneeling and lifting up to 50 pounds. You will be required to provide your own tools.  Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time to work with our customers will also be required; therefore, you must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license as well as a United States Passport. Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
