The Laboratory Supervisor will work collaboratively with Medical Director and Laboratory Manager to ensure adherence to CMS CLIA guidelines. This position must remain available to the laboratory staff to provide on-site or telephone consultations. The Supervisor must ensure proficiency testing (PT), employee competency records and qualification documents adhere to CMS CLIA guidelines. Maintain and review quality control data for laboratory testing. Review and write policies and procedures. Assist with hiring qualified laboratory staff and guide orientation and training. Identify training needs or areas for improvement and work with the laboratory director to implement quality initiatives and track quality assurance data. Help the Laboratory manager to maintain the LIS and document control system. Ensure the laboratory has a suitable level of equipment and supplies for staff to perform their jobs. Ensure readiness and maintain required documentation for CMS CLIA inspections.
