Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Develop logistics capabilities through best-in-class processes, innovation and technology to reduce distribution operational expense, improve customer service, and increase agility of network. Benchmark external/internal best practices to continuously refine a Distribution strategy that leverages internal and external partnerships and delivers increased value to customers. Ensure execution of Big Bet projects across Distribution to deliver committed benefits to KCNA.

ORGANIZATION:

Influencing North America Supply Chain leadership for both KCNA and KCP, as well as external third-party providers, to drive change and deliver improved business results. Collaborates with Organization Supply Leaders, Supply Chain Leaders, Transportation Leaders, Sourcing (Procurement) and Supply Management Leaders, Quality Leaders, External Vendors and adjacent business functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversight for KCNA DC Automation project team and strategy delivering $30MM in savings over 3 years across all North America mills and regional distribution centers


  • $35MM of annual capital management across mills and regional distribution centers, as well as support to mills on large-scale non-DC capital projects


  • Identify and implement distribution process improvements that will enable business units to improve service to Customers or that enhance productivity, ultimately decreasing Distribution Expense by 10% over 3-5 years


  • Accountability for mill DC performance against $170-190MM Distribution Expense budget – capable of explaining gaps and implementing corrective action to keep budget within control


  • Be externally oriented to gain an understanding of industry best practices, how these practices match our current capabilities, and to identify process improvements that will enable us to move towards a Best in Class status.


  • Responsible for development, rollout and sustaining of the KCNA Distribution playbook and metrics and incorporating the best-known methods and processes across all work-streams.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 


  • Education required/ preferred: BA or BS in Supply Chain or business administration required; MBA or MS desirable


  • Proven ability to positively influence people at all organizational levels


  • Generally, 10 years of industrial experience and/or education in technical or operational roles in DCs, mills and staff locations with demonstrated track record of growth in leadership


  • Distribution experience


  • Procurement experience


  • Lean philosophy and techniques


  • Project Management skills


  • Ability to effectively communicate and build talent in individuals and groups


  • Ability to travel up to 35%

  • Cross-functional knowledge throughout the supply chain (manufacturing, distribution, planning, sourcing and supply, transportation) including demonstrated knowledge of financial metrics and drivers


  • Organization development and capability building  


  • Strong and demonstrated strategic thinking and thought leadership 


  • Strong skills and experience with diagnosing and resolving complex problems and opportunities within business and organization


  • Able to manage with ambiguity and autonomy


  • Customer-facing understanding/experience desirable.
