The Validation Analyst supports the first line of defense in ensuring design solution of control reports accurately mitigates risk; tests report functionality and logic, and for issues that require a lookback as a part of issue remediation, assists with the validation of population logic, data and report that identifies the impacted population. The Analyst assists with the validation of performance of the lookback against the approved lookback review strategy document to ensure the lookback was performed accurately and effectively.
Responsibilities:
For issues that require a lookback as a part of issue remediation, assists with the validation of population logic, date and report that identifies the impacted population and assists with the validation of performance of the lookback against the approved lookback review strategy document to ensure the lookback was performed accurately and effectively
Ensures design solution of control reports accurately mitigates risk; Tests report functionality and logic, as needed
Partners with Validation Analyst Sr. and team to ensure underlying control effectiveness
Ensures control metrics for monitoring have been considered and have been incorporated where possible to ensure control sustainability can be easily tested
Considers all preventative and automated controls; works with Validation Analyst Sr. to ensure best controls were selected by the business
Drafts written summary of validation findings for review
Follows-up on open validation items to ensure findings are satisfactorily resolved
Complies with policies and regulations within the Office of the Chief Control Officer
Communicates frequently with manager and contributes to a high performing culture to maximize operational efficiency
Understands and complies with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties
Assists with special projects as directed by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
3+ years of relevant or related experience required
In depth understanding of Mortgage Servicing, QA/QC, or Risk Management experience
Ability to identify and quantify operational risk in the various functions
Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed, and organized individual
Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills
Strong interaction and people skills
Ability to multitask and assess and change priorities
Possess the ability to work independently and be able to recognize and escalate matters of attention appropriately and timely
Must possess strong attention to detail and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience
