eCornell's Curriculum Development team is looking for an Associate Video Producer who will be charged with the responsibility for recording online learning content delivered by Cornell faculty partners. Reporting to the Video Production Manager, the Associate Video Producer collaborates with various functional leads, and plays a key role in ensuring an optimal process from pre to post-production on video shoots. Experience working with video, audio and lighting is a requirement, as well as the ability to work in a team focused environment.

What You Will Do:


  • Operate studio equipment to capture video for course development.


  • Represent eCornell as a Producer/ Videographer in the studios, and in the field.


  • Assisting or running in-studio course shoots, assisting live event streaming, remote field video production or assisting faculty partners using self-led studios.


  • Assist Technical Director in setup, prep and testing equipment to spot check for issues regarding the quality of capture, audio and lighting prior to operation.


  • Reset, clean and rearrange equipment, props and furniture after in-studio and remote shoots under supervision of Technical Director or Multimedia Specialist.


  • Media management tasks including color correction, audio post-processing, digital information transfers (uploads/downloads) and rendering final videos from animators as assigned from Post-production Coordinator.


  • Work with eCornell Instructional Designers and address any questions about existing production capabilities.


What You Will Need:


  • Associate's degree in Radio/Television, Film, Fine Arts or related field and one years' experience operating video cameras and equipment; or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.


  • Proficiency with video gear and cameras.


  • Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced environment, handling multiple types of production.


  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment.


  • Flexibility to adjust to faculty partners schedules; ability to occasionally work shoots early or in the evenings.


What We prefer:


  • Solid understanding of the nuances of working within the confines of multimedia production for online learning products.


  • Prior experience working in a higher education/online learning environment.


  • Proficient with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite - mainly Premiere Pro.


  • Prior experience with/knowledge of Cornell's creative services.

This position is located in Ithaca, New York. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the University's decision to limit the number of on-campus employees, the successful applicant will be asked to perform this role remotely at a location of their choice in the United States for a limited time, only until the University can permit more employees to work on campus. Once the University permits more employees to work on campus, the successful applicant will be expected to work on the Ithaca campus, although they may be permitted to perform a portion of their work remotely.

The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholdings for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working temporarily outside New York State.
