Position Summary:
The Emergency Department Technician performs routine duties within the limits of documented training for the emergency department patient. The care is rendered under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse

Minimum Requirements:
Current Washington state certification/licensure as a CAN or NA-R, or successful completion of EMT Training Course (EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within 90 days of hire)
Previous experience as a CAN, NA-R, corpsman, EMT, or phlebotomist in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting within the last three years preferred

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Current BLS or within first week of orientation
Current Washington State Licensure as a MA-C, MA-R, NA-C OR NA-R, or successful completion of EMT training. EMTs will be required to obtain NA-R (or one of the above mentioned licenses) within 90 days of hire.
MA-P license or apply for MA-P license within 90 days of hire. Training and cost will be provided by Deaconess Hospital. MA-C license will be accepted in lieu of MA-P.
*If licensed as a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C), no other license will be required.
