Job Description:

Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) is an advanced information technology engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions. This team is challenged daily to provide cutting edge technology solutions to our clients. SRC is searching for a senior-level F5 Network Engineer to support sustainment of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) systems. These systems consist of an on-premises Nutanix Hyper-Converged Private Cloud utilizing VMware ESXi Hypervisor and associated products, with future migration to Nutanix's native Hypervisor. The Private Cloud hosts NORAD and USNORTHCOM Mission Applications and Web Services including the Situational Awareness Geospatial Enterprise (SAGE) and Air Event Information Sharing Service (A/EISS) applications, as well as the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) and Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS) Program of Record (PoR) Systems and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers. The program is transitioning some services to Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud environment to host the USNORTHCOM Unclassified Common Operational Picture which utilizes Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) Geospatial products. Sustainment of NORAD and USNORTHCOM systems will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Manage, design, install and maintain Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud based infrastructure for the customer

  • Deliver solutions to enable metrics gathering, logging, and monitoring of AWS environments

  • Provide cloud integration USNORTHCOM application modernization efforts, works with developers to deploy, automate, manage, and maintain AWS cloud-based apps

  • Use F5 Web Application Firewall (WAF) and other tools to develop solutions to protect applications in a DoD data center environment with behavioral analytics, proactive bot defense, and application-layer encryption of sensitive data

  • Design, configure, test, and document Single Sign-On (SSO), Common Access Card Authentication, and Active Directory integration using F5 APM

  • Design, configure, test, document, and implementing F5 Big IP Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM), Access Policy Manager (APM), Local Traffic Manager (LTM), and Application Security Manager (ASM) / WAF solution

  • Analyze the existing APM, LTM, and ASM/WAF implementations to develop new solutions with faster throughput and/or enhanced security posture

  • Design, configure, test, and document F5 LTM solution using cipher suites, reverse web proxy, Hardware Security Module (HSM), and HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS)

  • Design, configure, test, document, and implement a Local Area Network (LAN)/ Wide Area Network (WAN) solution utilizing existing Cisco and Juniper hardware and software components to extend backside DMZ services to enterprise applications

  • Work with USNORTHCOM security team to define requirements for cloud infrastructure and application security

  • Design cybersecurity mandated solution(s) implementation and continuing maintenance

  • Collaborate with engineers, and developers to create or modify authorization boundary diagrams, as well as hardware and software lists

  • Build trust with customers and foster a focus on Cybersecurity with team members/stakeholders
