Our Innovative Internship Program is designed to equip students with the tools needed to succeed in the 3D world. You will be part of a cohort of students and work on meaningful projects that will add to your professional portfolio and skills. Internships can often lead to professional roles after graduation.

Our interns use their education and newly gained skills on real projects and are embedded in our teams, working side by side with FARO professionals.

As a Supply Chain Intern, you will earn key facets of Supply Chain like Procurement, Planning and Supplier Quality, Logistics and should leave with enhanced skills, and significant industry knowledge and an appreciation of the Supply Chain Functions.

In this internship, you will GAIN KNOWLEDGE - Become familiar with core processes and develop working knowledge of industry terminology. You will BUILD RELATIONSHIPS - Experience the business rhythm of the organization through participation in department meetings and observation of team role models. You will PRODUCE RESULTS - Complete projects and assignments as given.

Essential Functions:


  • Interface with industry suppliers in requesting and receiving quotations that will support procurement efforts.

  • Supplier proposal evaluations, including application of multiple financial analysis techniques.

  • Bill of Material development and population. Understanding how forecasting feeds the Planning systems to deliver factory build plans and MRP for materials procurement.

  • Learning the MRP Planning to Procurement functions and systems

  • Purchase order placement and administration.

  • Project management of key suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery of material.

  • Potential projects teaming with other interns from other Ops functions to look at more efficient solutions.

  • Working with Supplier and Faro factory and site locations on shipment logistics.

  • Working with internal factories and sites on shipment logistics.

  • Interfacing with Third Party Logistics providers that FARO partners with to move and manage product shipments.

  • Analyzing shipment data and cost information to recommend more efficient and cost effective methods and processes for product and material movement.

  • Potentially Program Managing specific projects or tasks to help improve Supply Chain and/or Logistics processes and efficiency.

Hiring Preferences:


  • Pursuing an accredited degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering or similar technical major.

  • Applicants need to work well with numbers, data, and units of measure.

  • Be actively enrolled in an accredited university (sophomore/junior/senior year) and maintain GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Travel: Not required. Lake Mary location only. On site at Lake Mary office once a week preferrable.

  • This is a part time internship.

Desired Skills:

  • Desired Skills: Applicants should have a strong desire to become Supply Chain or Operations professionals, with proficiency in MS Office and data analysis/reporting tools.

  • Organization skills, attention to detail, effective communication skills (written and oral), and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment are a must.
