Senior Market Sales, Inc. (SMS) is a leading insurance marketing organization focused on Medicare solutions, long-term care insurance, life insurance and annuities. We are looking for a Divisional Assistant Controller to join our team. The Divisional Assistant Controller will be responsible for preparing and delivering a variety financial reports, including financial pro forma and forecasting reports for target mergers and acquisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position will require direct communication with executive management of the company therefore any information exchanged should be treated with the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities for the Divisional Assistant Controller position includes but is not limited to:

• Assist in the monthly financial statement closing process and review


• Integrate merger and acquisition target companies onto the SMS accounting platform as well as coordinate the transition of accounting processes to SMS when needed


• Read, analyze and interpret company financial statements


• Review and prepare monthly financial statements and coordinate reporting to the parent company


• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and review results with stakeholders as well as reporting to the parent company

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.


• Minimum of 8 years accounting experience working in a multi-company multi-state environment


• Minimum of 5 years management or supervisory experience preferred


• Knowledge and experience with insurance industry preferred


• Strong Microsoft Office skills


• Strong verbal and written proficiencies of the English language
