Expectations:

Responsible for providing independent primary care in the Huntington Ambulatory Care Center and Employee Health to a multi-specialty population of patients. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) coordinates and case manages the patient through the full continuum of care, orchestrating patient flow through a comprehensive care plan, working to ensure that care is appropriate, timely, authorized and conducted in the most appropriate setting. Coordinates the care of the patient serving as the liaison between community physicians and Huntington hospital resources. Provides clinical, professional expertise and leadership for patients, families and staff members. The NP performs history and physical examinations, diagnoses and treats medical problems, orders and interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests and procedures. The NP functions as an expert clinician, consultant, educator and leader in department specific patient care management, ensuring optimal patient care management and outcomes. This position requires flexibility of hours.

Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program and advance practice MSN. Completion of an accredited program for Nurse Practitioner. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.

Experience/Training:
Minimum of 3 years experience as a Nurse practitioner in an Ambulatory Care setting and/or Emergency Room preferred. Minimum 1 year experience as an occupational or employee health Nurse Practitioner. Knowledge of California Workers' Compensation laws, current treatment guidelines and case management preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:
Current active unrestricted RN license issued by State of California required.
Current California Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority required.
Current American Heart Association BLS Provider required.
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN-S) preferred.
