The OB Tech scrubs for surgical procedures, which may include vaginal deliveries, and is responsible for cleaning, stocking and ordering supplies for the obstetrical units. Provides clerical support and performs patient care duties as directed by the nurse.

Responsibilities:

• The role of the OB Tech in Labor and Delivery is to provide care under the direction of the Charge Nurse, the Manager, and the Director of the Family Birthing Center.


• The OB Tech scrubs for surgical procedures, which may include vaginal deliveries, and is responsible for cleaning, stocking and ordering supplies for the obstetrical units.


• Provides clerical support and performs patient care duties as directed by the nurse. These duties may include, newborn baths, vital signs, and transporting discharged patients off unit.

Qualifications

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent or Graduate of an accredited Obstetric Technician training program preferred.


• Obstetric Technician preferred. American Heart Association BLS required.


• Two (2) year's prior experience in obstetric technician or surgical scrub tech role is strongly preferred.
