The Patch Management System Administrator must display strong team work with the ability to work independently and actively participate on integrated teams. The primary responsibilities include maintaining and upgrading systems to ensure the environment is secured and updated. This role includes, but is not limited to, patch management, system upgrades, backups, disaster recovery/business continuity planning, monitoring system performance and various projects to meet operational needs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Implement, manage and maintain automated patching solution (SCCM)
Package, test and deploy automated desktop and server application installations and patches within the SCCM framework.
Utilize scripts to create installation packages for 3rd party applications.
Develop user guidance documents and installation instructions.
Test and validate IT systems security patches and hot-fixes as defined by Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) and local security guidance.
Monitor the installation process and troubleshoot errors that may occur within the environment.
Develop test plans for all systems and applications prior to implementation within Operational environment.
Ensure maintenance windows are scheduled with system owners to ensure operational continuity.
Perform other administrative and support functions as directed by leadership
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong experience in automation, software deployment and package/application (SCCM)
Must obtain Security+ CE certification within 90 days of hire
Strong Microsoft Server Operating Systems experience
Strong background supporting Linux Servers
Strong VMware experience
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
3+ years of experience as a system administrator
Strong with scripting languages (Powershell, Ruby, Python)
