Safely and efficiently perform work utilizing personal tools involving maintenance and craft occupation skills to keep industrial machines, mechanical equipment, and the structure of the business establishment in repair. Requires following safe work practices including but not limited to, lock out tag out, confined space entry, ladder and climbing safety and hot work.

• Performs welding and cutting on steel and stainless steel


• Performs pipefitting and plumbing repairs


• Repair and replace motors and gear drives


• Repair, rebuild, and replace pumps


• Repair high pressure hydraulics, compressed air and steam systems


• Repair, maintain, and assist operations of waste water and grease processing


• Cleans and paints as needed


• Lifts, moves and rigging heavy and awkward equipment


• Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner


• Follow department and company procedures


• Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company


• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Knowledge of repair and maintenance of industrial machinery


• Knowledge of safety equipment, policies and procedures


• Skill to maintain, repair and install machines or systems using appropriate tools


• Ability to use English to communicate verbally and in writing


• High school diploma or equivalent; maintenance vocational education training preferred


• 1-2 years experience in a maintenance manufacturing; electrical background preferred

Physical Demands/Requirements:

Constantly (over 2/3):

• Operates and uses maintenance tools including electrical hand tools


• Ascends/descends ladders to service equipment or perform maintenance duties in high locations


• Must be able to position self to maintain equipment or perform duties of repairing and maintaining equipment and including stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.


• Must be able to move around industrial equipment in manufacturing facility and maintenance workshop


• Must be able to detect and observe equipment in need of repair

Frequently (1/3-2/3):

• Communicates with staff in the process or repairing equipment equipment


• Move and transport material, equipment and tools up to 70 lbs with and without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment

Occasionally (under 1/3):

• Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions
