This role is for 2nd shift which will include shift differential pay

Position Scope:

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering Technician inspects, measures, cleans, and performs repair work on printed circuit boards (PCBs). This employee performs precision hand work to remove excess material from milled cavities, often working under a microscope. The technician enters measurement, tolerance, and quality data into the electronic system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and accurately understand the shop traveler (job order, instructions, and customer specifications).

  • Operate electronic measurement equipment and compare results to the customer's specifications.

  • Work under a microscope to clean and make repairs to PCBs, utilizing small hand and cutting tools.

  • Enter product and quality data into a computer system.

  • Consistently evaluate product for quality, verifying departmental procedures are completed accurately.

  • Identify product issues and immediately escalate to management or engineering as required.

  • Provides kitting (consolidation of materials) support for NPI jobs.

  • Follow all safety training and procedures as directed by the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), chemical handling, and hazardous waste.

  • Responsible for immediately reporting all accidents, near misses, and safety concerns.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

  • Ability to read and comprehend English written instructions, including manufacturing work orders, customer specifications, blueprints, and shop control documents.

  • Able to operate and work under a microscope for extended periods of time.

  • Exceptional hand dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Quality centered mindset with strong attention-to-detail and ability to under +1/-1 tolerances.

  • General computer skills and ability to update electronic records, enter data into systems, and send emails.

  • Able to be a positive team member while also working independently.

  • Able to sit throughout a shift and independently push, pull, or lift 10-40-pounds.

  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job.

  • Consistently meet attendance requirements. Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as necessary.

  • Comfortable working within a manufacturing environment that includes machinery, moving parts, noise, and chemicals.

Education and Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred. Experience within the aerospace industry or AS9100 is a plus.
