Summary
The H/O Program-Apheresis Specialist will deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs. Nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment. The Apheresis Specialist will use education, experience and analytical judgment to perform the duties of clinical apheresis procedures, recognizing technical and process problems and ensuring test systems are functioning properly within the expected parameters. The Apheresis Specialist will lead the 5NT Procedure Team. Leading this team will involve management of staff, resources and schedules to perform moderate sedation procedures successfully. Schedules are dependent on the patient's need. This position will also staff hours, rotate on-call and perform other duties as assigned to meet the Apheresis Program and hospital goals. Time may be allocated to 5NT or Infusion Center cost centers if the need arises.
