What success looks like in this role:
* Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs. * Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or desktop applications products. * Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. * Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. * Models and applies software engineering methods and techniques to the design, development, evaluation, integration, qualification and/or support of complex products, tools or technologies in one or more areas of expertise. * Often assumes technical and project leadership roles. * May function as a consultant or researcher. * May manage schedule, quality and technical solution on assigned projects in coordination with project leadership. May overs schedule, quality and technical solution performance of staff.You will be successful in this role if you have:
* Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent work experience. * Specific technical skill requirements include proficiency in demonstrating/performing one or more skills in each technical skill group. * Knowledge and experience with software and system engineering lifecycle and tools including requirements development, requirements management, and software sustainment. * Knowledge of system and software architecture frameworks.
Unisys is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Advanced Data Analytics team.
This role focuses on advanced data integration capabilities and technologies from the latest and greatest tools.These include the Microsoft SQL BI Platform (Microsoft Data Platform) on Azure as well as Big Data.There will be multiple types and sources of data (structured, semi-structured, unstructured, FTP, API, streaming data, etc.) used to populate data lakes and data-warehousing environments.
- Build integrations and large-scale data processing systems
- Work closely with Designers, Business Analysts and other Developers to investigate and analyze the raw data
- Ingest and Prepare data for analytical and/or operational uses
- Utilize SQL, scripts and/or other tools and methodologies to assist with data processing and solution development
- Build and maintain permanent data integrations
- Coordinate with Data Scientists, Consultants, Project Managers, Quality Assurance Analysts, etc. to productize existing integrations
- Translate detailed specifications into the Data Integration designs
- Analyze, design, develop, test and document the data integration processes
- Identify opportunities to establish new reusable components
- Assist with troubleshooting of Data Integration processes in Quality Assurance or Production environments
- Complement Data Integration processes with shell scripts, Python or Perl scripts
- Define and/or create process orchestration
- Conduct unit tests and assist in test preparations to ensure data integrity, data quality and program quality
- Design and implement technical enhancements of Data Warehouse or pure Data Integration solutions
- Apply state of the art Security best practices as required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Programming expertise in one or more Scripting language (Spark, Scala, Python, Perl, PowerShell, Java, Bash, etc.)
- In depth understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and design methodologies
- Advanced experience with BI Stacks, especially Microsoft
- Experience in developing and working with custom ETL Solutions using Microsoft SSIS and BI stack
- Expertise working with MS SQL Server (2016 or above) and programming with T-SQL
- Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services, SSRS and Power BI reporting/dashboarding
- Experience with Big Data tools such as Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, and Sqoop is a plus
- Expert knowledge of SQL language from multiple vendors
- Experience with building/maintaining Data Lakes and end to end big data pipelines in cloud computing platforms (Mostly Azure, some AWS)
- Security certification not required, but candidate must have firm grasp on modern best practices
- Experience with physical database modeling and relational data models
- Experience with moving large amounts of data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
