Role and Responsibilities

Summary

The Project Engineer (PE) leads, coordinates, and exercises technical program execution authority over Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for planning, organizing, controlling, integration, execution of, and close out of engineering content on a variety of modeling and simulation programs. The position will work closely with senior level program engineering management to include extending the capabilities of our Modeling & Simulation system, utilizing high-performance computing environments that include Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), massive memory and visualization capabilities, high-speed internal networks and interoperability with external virtual and live systems. Other activities include all-spectrum geospatial and dynamical entity constructive modeling in all domains (undersea to space, cyber, and EM), analysis of systems and sub systems for current and next generation real-world systems, scenario definition, simulation setup and conduct, results analysis, and adjustment and validation of the models until required results are obtained. These simulations will support military system design/trade studies, performance assessment, and system test.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for managing Advance Concept Engineering (ACE) initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving cross-functional teams.

  • The PE performs as the technical lead over the assigned engineering team on a program to include leading/participating in program peer, gate, and design reviews, supporting program management reviews (PMRs), and coordinating technical activity amongst the program IPTs.

  • The PE performs weekly/monthly Cost Account Management (CAM) reviews with IPTs and is responsible for technical, cost, and schedule performance for the engineering content on a program.

  • Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts.

  • The PE receives engineering direction from and is accountable to a Program Engineering Manager (PEM), who has overall Program Engineering responsibility for successfully proposing, developing and delivering Product Line solutions.

  • Responsible for improving upon existing processes or establishing new systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation, including championing new concepts or technologies

  • Recommends tactics and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.

Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences

  • Minimumtwelve years of priortechnical, project experience with both Traditional and Agile Program Execution methods working as a leader, developer, or technologist.

  • Active Secret DOD security clearance.

  • One plus years of experience with DevSecOps practices and popular tool sets for management, automation, and deployment (Atlassian, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, or others)

  • Five plus years experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

Preferred Skills


  • Advanced Master's Degree in an engineering discipline.

  • Four plus years of experience within the Modeling and Simulation industry.

  • Four plus years of experience performing as primary technical interface with DOD customers.

  • Four plus years of experience working with Business Development to cultivate follow-on work and new program opportunities.

  • Two plus years of experience with AFSIM and/or other military and COTS model, simulation, decision support tools to support operations assessment; as well as lessons learned development/refinement experience

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

  • Must be able to perform normal office duties (e.g.sitting for long periods at a desk)

  • Must be able to travel CONUS/OCONUS via car and airplane

  • Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator
