We are currently searching for a Fitting Line Laborer based out of Santa Paula, CA. Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, this person will be responsible for preparing pipe for priming, applying the primer to pipe, guiding pipe into conveyor, and dip fitting on to primer.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 months experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is desired.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Staging Parts: Remove parts from packaging / Disassemble part / Place parts in bins according to order

Part Priming: Mount parts in dipping rack / Dip parts in primer bath

Part tooling: Select appropriate tooling for each part / Mount tooling on part utilizing power tools / Load part onto dipping rack and hang on oven conveyor

Part coating: Remove part from oven conveyor / Dip part in coating bath / Hang part on conveyor

Part de-tooling: Remove parts from conveyor / Hang parts in cooling bath / Remove tooling from part with power tools

Touch-up and pack-out: Examine part and touch up with finishing material / Package completed part

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required


• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions


• Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day


• Must be capable of lifting, pulling or pushing at least 25 lbs.


• Must possess basic skills in order to maintain safe operation as required by the particular job task


• Must keep working area neat and orderly


• Must be willing and able to work any shift


• Must have dependability, good attendance and a strong work ethic


• Must be willing to work overtime as needed


• Ability to work well with others


• Ability to follow directions and complete work in a safe and efficient manner while producing a quality product

Working Environment

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 25 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protectors, hi-visibility uniforms, and metatarsal steel-toed work boots.
