JOB SUMMARY



This position is responsible for ensuring the production and packaging lines have the necessary material needed to make and package the products. This is accomplished by transporting/transferring the requested materials such as cans and ingredients to the production and packaging lines.














PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES



Loading/Unloading / Transferring Materials


* Operated forklift truck according to established safety standards


* Moves materials from the warehouse to the production/packaging line


* Moves product/materials from line to line


* Ensures material quantities being moved are accurate and scanned/ reported to correct locations


* Removes used item(s) such as pallets, tier sheets, trash bins from production/packaging areas


* To sort or do minor repair of pallets when needed



Documentation


* Complete all required paperwork


* Scan material via barcode in an out of inventory


* Completes "Forklift Operator's Checklist" to indicate forklift/ equipment is proper working order



Other


* Assists production/packaging line operators by removing plastic and or straps from pallets


* Preforms routine maintenance (not handled by Maintenance Company) such as filling propane tank, checking valves, filling air bags and correctly using load dunnage, etc.


* Maintains clean work area by picking up trash, sweeping floor, wiping down equipment, empty trash and recycle containers, etc.



  • Other duties as assigned.




















EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE




  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

  • Must be able to successfully use basic math and writing skills

  • Prior forklift experience preferred

  • Must be able to pass forklift operator training and testing

  • Must have basic comprehension skills
