Job Description:

The Product Engineer in the Chemistry Product Support group will be responsible for ensuring availability and improving system reliability and performance for on-market products in the Chemistry portfolio. Using data and information from a variety of sources (run data, customer call data, supplier test data, manufacturing and service data) you will develop deep insights into occurrences and causes of system failures, design solutions, and lead verification and validation tests. You will also be part of a team that helps to resolve urgent, critical manufacturing and supply chain challenges to ensure availability of products. We are looking for someone who is self-directed, able to work independently, and comfortable working with small cross functional teams in a rapidly changing environment.

What you will be doing:

• Evaluate and reduce the risk of changes (supplier, design, procedures etc.) to product availability and customer satisfaction


• Investigate the root cause of platform level customer satisfaction issues using engineering principals, data analytics, and structured problem solving methods


• Design and implement solutions to address the root cause of top losses


• Use your flexibility, creativity, ability to quickly learn new concepts and persistence to resolve a wide variety of urgent engineering and scientific issues


• You will lead project teams that may cross multiple disciplines within a functional organization.


• You will solves complex problems or problems that do not have routine solutions; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. May lead multi-disciplined problem-solving team.

What you will bring:

• 2+ Years of relevant experience.


• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.


• Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.


• You have experience demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.


• You have the ability to network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.


• You are able to generate written reports and verbal presentations to LOB and Executive Management, with good report writing and presentation skills.


• You can communicate effectively to a broad audience or one-on-one.


• You have or will be able to build a small established network of internal and external resources.


• You will be able to perform work with no direct supervision.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Extensive sitting, standing and computer use. Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch. May be required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds. Some travel required. Work with exposed moving electro-mechanical parts. Work with exposed electrical power requiring proper protective equipment. Office, engineering lab and industrial environments requiring safety, electrostatic discharge (ESD), clean room and other equipment. Additional work with electrical solder and fluxes, exposure to supplier assembly processes using chemicals, with machinery noise.
