Overview

The Sicinski lab is seeking a research technician to join the scientific team. The lab is involved in studying the role of cell cycle regulators in development and maintenance of cancer and determining therapeutic strategies based on the obtained results.

Requirements

The successful candidate will help with day-to-day experiments and perform scientific research of varying complexity. Duties include, but are not limited to tissue culture, basic molecular and cell biology techniques and working with laboratory mice. The person will also help with general lab maintenance tasks such as ordering of lab supplies and generating laboratory reagents. The position will be a good learning opportunity for those interested in biomedical research.

Qualifications

BA/BS required: in Biology or closely related field

Previous experience with basic cell culture and molecular biology laboratory techniques, including recombinant DNA and protein biochemistry, is preferred.

Ability to learn quickly, being well-organized, punctual and able to interact well with others.

Two year commitment.

Full-time - 40 hours per week as needed. Variable hours, some nights and weekends, may be required to complete experiments and meet deadlines.
