Position Description:




Role Summary and PurposeAs the Alternative Operations Manager, you will join a team of professionals in Newport Beach, CA, London, and New York supporting PIMCO's Alternatives/Structured Products business, including complex hedge funds and private equity vehicles. You will engage key stakeholders, including Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and external service providers, to ensure timely settlements and maintenance of all broadly syndicated bank loan trades across PIMCO. Examples of processes include:


  • Deal facilitation

  • Settlement

  • Income accounting and collection

  • Cash wire controls

  • Physical security registration

  • Loan restructuring

  • Other operational functions


This role will be located in New York, NY.
Responsibilities

  • Support PIMCO's bank debt portfolio managers and external counsel with settlement oversight and life cycle management on all syndicated bank loan trades, both par and distressed

  • Provide necessary oversight and serve as an escalation point to outsourced provider performing back-office related functions (settlements, asset setup, P&I processing, etc.)

  • Assist with loan amendments and restructurings

  • Oversight of agent and fund admin reconciliations performed by the outsourced provider

  • Represent PIMCO for relevant LSTA initiatives

  • Manage cross-functional projects to improve specific processes

  • Enhance PIMCO's bank loan operating model, including technology enhancements, outsourcing engagements, and service provider management

  • Project lead at PIMCO for loan asset class in preparation for LIBOR cessation

  • Develop proper controls and oversight for the bank loan investments across PIMCO

  • Assist the deal team with CLO warehouse ramp up, securitization, and active management










Position Requirements:




Experience


  • Operational support across par and distressed term loan, revolver, and delayed draw syndicated bank loans

  • Knowledge of loan settlement process through Clearpar, LMA/LSTA docs

  • Understanding of loan set up, interest calculations, amendments, restructuring, and loan agency

  • Experience with CLO's including warehouse to securitization phases

  • Management of fund level and asset-based financings, including loan TRS

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment required

  • Experience with common private equity frameworks from booking and settlement through accounting and maintenance of deals post settlement.

  • Custody and accounting service provider relationship management for supported products

  • Understanding of private equity legal structures a plus

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum 6-10 years of Operations experience supporting bank loans

  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Clearpar, WSO, and Bloomberg essential

  • Good understanding of loan based products, ideally term loans, revolvers, delayed draw, private originated debt

  • Solid understanding of fund accounting across complex asset classes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for client meetings

  • Proven track record managing complex securities and processing tasks, particularly with financing instruments and strategies

  • Understanding of SQL and database query tools is a plus
