Strategic Communications Analyst at Applied Research Associates, Inc in Alexandria, Virginia

Job Description:

Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a Strategic Communications Analyst capable of developing, coordinating, managing, and evaluating executive level directed communications and outreach strategies. Capable of developing and reviewing communication products for clarity, effectiveness, and alignment with executive level guidance. Communication products includes, but not limited to, printed material, website material, congressional responses, public affairs material, outreach engagements, etc.

This position requires a candidate with experience researching, organizing, writing, editing, and producing technical data for communication products. Duties include:

• Organizes material and writes descriptive copy according to standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology


• Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style


• Supports the development, coordination, monitoring, and evaluating executive level directed communications and outreach strategies


• Reviews content of technical and professional written material. The written material includes but not limited to letters, memorandum, reports, guidance documents, meeting minutes, etc.


• Utilizes and implements the established requirements in the DoD Guides and Manuals on written correspondence

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art degree in journalism, English, or communications


• Minimum 5 years of strategic communication or technical editing experience


• US citizen with a minimum Secret clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense


• Experience supporting or working with the Defense Research & Engineering community


• Hands-on experience in the RDT&E of technologies or complex systems

This position is contingent upon award of a contract expected in Summer 2021 supporting the Department of Defense.
