Job Description:

Arcadis is searching for an Entry Level Electrical Engineer for our Metairie, Louisiana office. The primary focus of this role will be to support electrical design services that provide design of power runs, lighting, and communication interfaces from power sources to equipment systems for Intelligent Transportation systems, Connected and autonomous vehicle technology, and control room systems and information systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background and the ability to work productively independently and as a member of a highly efficient team. This position requires the successful candidate to be performance-driven, team-oriented and client-focused with strong written/verbal communication skills and an impressive work ethic.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Support electrical and lighting designs by evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering certain electrical power and lighting systems or products. Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices.
• Electrical/Lighting Design in support of a variety of projects including: roadways, bridges, tunnels, airports, transportation facilities, parks, waterfronts, site development projects, and electrical infrastructure design.
• Preparation of deliverables and documents including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Willingness to learn and support more experienced staff.
• Ability to coordinate with staff across multiple offices and regions on projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other electrical and lighting design software.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a U.S. accredited 4-year university.
• EIT or ability to obtain EIT within one (1) year from date of hire.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project and Outlook).
• Basic understanding of electrical codes and NFPA standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior internship experience.
