Overview

The Compensation Analyst is responsible to research and evaluate job requirements to ensure the company compensation programs are competitive with the market.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
• Interview and survey employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.


• Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine proper classification as exempt or nonexempt and identify appropriate salary grade and range.


• Prepare and maintain overall company compensation structure including job classifications, families and salary grades and ranges.


• Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence, gathering data from market-based compensation surveys to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.


• Participate on behalf of the company in industry specific compensation surveys.


• Prepare and present summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information to Executive team on a quarterly basis and as necessary.


• Effectively utilize spreadsheets and data analysis techniques/software to assess results and market trends, bringing areas of concern to management.


• Prepare data for annual merit increase process. Collaborate with managers to determine companywide increases.


• Advise management on applicable state and federal employment regulations related to compensation.


• Recommend creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field
* Experience: Minimum of five years of compensation experience. AEC industry a plus.
* Licensure/Certifications: SHRM-CP a plus.

* Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and effectively communicate data, orally and written.
* Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel. Experience using ADP Workforce Now and/or PayScale preferred.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
* Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.
