POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Expert Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for the daily activities of the mechanical engineering team. The SEE maintains daily contact with team engineers as they work on various projects, supervising their application of engineering principles and ensuring compliance with engineering guidelines. The SEE is the specialist/expert of mechanical and structural design, in charge of understanding all the dimensions of the technology, the associated best practices, and their potential evolutions.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Other duties may be assigned)

  • Act as the technical expert in the mechanical engineering discipline.

  • Lead one or several Specialist Engineers (SE) who are responsible for structural analysis and mechanical design.

  • Develop Engineering Best Practices associated to those Engineering Discipline(s) along with other SEE from different business units.

  • Support the development of the FAQ Plans for components in his field of expertise.

  • Ensure a reasonable level of training on his Engineering Discipline(s) to the rest of the Engineering Department.

  • Other assignments as designated by department manager.

  • Establish standards, procedures and other documents in accordance with ISO 9001.




QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • 5+ years of engineering design experience, including design methods, engineering materials and associated manufacturing systems.

  • 3+ years supervisory experience in an engineering environment

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

  • Computer skills: Solidworks or other 3D-CAD proficiency, MRP system experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office.
