Summary of Responsibilities:

Under nominal direction, the Production Manager leads and manages the operations of all production areas to ensure that safety, quality, manufacturing standards and finances are achieved in accordance with Company expectations. This position plans and establishes work schedules, staffing requirements and production activities that ensure we are maximizing productivity and efficiency. The Production Manager facilitates maintenance, quality and engineering services to meet business objectives. In this role, the manager facilitates and leads projects and continuous improvement to meet KPI initiatives. This position also communicates with the manager on the status of projects and initiatives.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Assists the Plant Operations Leader in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives effecting their assigned area.

  • Provides leadership, support and guidance to employees and ensures the goals and objectives of the organization are met.

  • Communicates the status of the area performance, projects and initiatives across the business.

  • Achieves optimum team performance impacting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and development.

  • Makes recommendations about the manufacturing plant and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.

  • Implements manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.

  • Oversees performance management for all production employees.

  • Partners closely with other department leaders (Human Resources, Finance, Engineering, etc.) to drive effective plant operations.

  • Initiates and coordinates major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).

  • Stays current on technology and leading manufacturing practices.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or business administration or equivalent experience

Required Knowledge Skills & Experiences:


  • 7 years' experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in plastic or chemical industry

  • Proven performance in continuous improvement practices and analysis

  • Ability to work effectively with others in a manufacturing environment

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Experiences:

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean training
