Overview:

The Veeco MBE (Molecular Beam Epitaxy) product line located in St. Paul, MN is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team which serves the equipment, and service needs of the exciting MBE market. The Manufacturing Engineer handles all aspects of manufacturing engineering for existing products and new products from start to finish ensuring manufacturing and quality meet best-in-classrequirements.

Responsibilities:


  • Create and maintain routings and bills of material in SAP, work instructions, and test requirements for systems and sub-assemblies

  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, increase operational efficiency and quality of the product.

  • Participate in Product Life Cycle (PLC) projects.

  • Participate in Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and perform DFM (design for manufacturing) reviews.

  • Support the supplier development and certification process.

  • Implementation of ECO's (engineering change order) accurately, timely, and cost-effectively.

  • Lead and/or participate in 8D methods to analyze and resolve technical / operational problems.

  • Provide management with project updates and status reports formally and informally.

Qualifications:


  • B.S. degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience within a highly technical production environment or capital equipment manufacturing field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Solid Modeling experience beneficial (Solidworks preferred)

  • Experience with ERP tools required, SAP preferred

  • Able to effectively communicate, both written and orally

  • Adept in the use of computers, software applications, and other technology tools used for information gathering, designing, product testing, computation, communication, and product documentation

  • Strong ability to read and interpret highly technical documents provided in verbal, written, or pictorial form


  • Must be willing to travel 5%.
