Job Summary

The Appraisal Services Specialist supports the efficient operation of the Appraisal Services Department and serves as the initial contact between HomeTrust associates and Appraisal Services as well as the appraisal community.  

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Process all New Messages and New Orders on the ValuTrac system.


• Check appraisal orders and documents for accuracy.


• Redact sensitive loan information from documents prior to sending to appraisers.


• Assign orders to commercial appraisers, residential appraisers, and internal/third party reviewers.


• Coding appraisal invoices for payment.


• Ordering environmental screens through a third-party vendor.


• Assists with maintaining the registry of appraisers including licensure and E&O insurance.


• Professional communication with appraisers, and HomeTrust associates by email, ValuTrac and phone conversations.

Job Requirements

Education:

• High School graduate. 

Required:

• 1+ years of experience in banking, real estate, or related industry.


• Demonstrated knowledge of appraisals, mortgage loans and processes.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to work independently while managing multiple projects / processes in a fast-paced environment.


• Ability to perform intermediate mathematical computations.


• Proficient in general computer use and Microsoft Office products.


• Must be highly engaged in all aspects of appraisal process including compliance with Federal and Agency Guidelines.


• Must be flexible and willing to take on projects and responsibilities outside the primary scope of position.


• Adopts an anticipatory rather than reactionary approach to managing the appraisal process.


• Is accessible to staff and appraisers and works with a sense of urgency.


• Demonstrates strong problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills.


• High degree of personal and professional integrity – consistent, trustworthy, honest, and fair in dealing with internal clients and external customers. 

 Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.


• Experience using SharePoint and ValuTrac.
