Summary of Job:

Manage assigned group of foremen who are responsible for mechanical construction projects; Direct and coordinate assigned personnel in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing and resolving concerns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to)


  • Responsible for completing and abiding by all Company procedures and policies as outlined in the site management procedure manual

  • Work closely with the project manager to plan and manage the project schedule and to ensure successful project completion, teamwork, and feedback to internal departments

  • Represent Lee Company management to the field employees and customers on the jobsite

  • Uphold a professional image, jobsite, and office trailer

  • Promote safe working environment; provide for safe working environment for subordinate reports

  • Manage Foreman, Plumbers and helpers, Sheet Metal mechanics and helpers and Installers and supervises their daily activities

  • Assign responsibilities and tasks

  • Evaluate the needs of subordinate reports and appropriate necessary tools for success

  • Ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, regulations, ethics, and mission statement

  • Responsible for providing written performance evaluations for subordinate reports to the assigned General Superintendent, as requested

  • Provide mentorship and direction to all subordinate reports

  • Build and maintain customer relationships to ensure chain of command is intact and understood

  • React quickly to customer concerns that rise above the field level

  • Work proactively to promote positive relationships between construction management teams and customer teams, as well as internal departments

  • Schedule subcontractors and monitor performance; notify project manager of subcontract concerns

  • Complete daily reports and document anything that could become a liability for the company

  • Immediately notify the project manager of onsite scope or schedule changes

  • Schedule equipment and material; ensure needed items are received at the jobsite are in good condition upon delivery

  • Ensure that material is kept in good clean condition, when storing material, until installation can occur

  • Must be able to handle stress and job demands.

  • Must be able to cooperatively work with others.

Education and Experience:


  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • 10 years or more related experience in the mechanical contracting industry with project experience exceeding $8M on a single project

  • Knowledge of drafting systems

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other applications as needed

Individuals may be exposed to: cramped work spaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day.  Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently.  The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places and /or hazardous equipment.  May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.
