Requisition Summary
Responsible for Senior Human Resource generalist activities for assigned internal customers.Administer human resources policies and programs, balancing employee advocacy and business operating needs. Promote equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws. Provide comprehensive HR support, directly or indirectly to a designated client group in the area of recruitment and retention of critical talent, continuous performance coaching and management, pro-active issue/problem identification and resolution, and coaching and development for more effective leadership decision and communication skills.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Responsible for the day to day HR activities necessary to support the business.
Manages the recruiting process including sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and onboarding of new employees.
Provide HR support to assigned internal customers including employment, coaching & counseling, job bidding, salary administration (for non-exempt), benefits administration and attendance management.
Build positive employee relations by proactive employee communication, prompt issue resolution and fair and equitable treatment. This includes support of local and corporate programs to promote employee goodwill and positive morale.
Provide sound decision making and ability to lead department when operating as primary back up in the absence of the HR Manager.
Provide coaching and counseling to employees and managers as needed.
Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements
Administer, coordinate, participate, and/or assist with projects and activities
Conduct investigation into operational and HR/employee relations issues as required.
Conduct employee and supervisor training including benefits, policies and procedures and prevention of harassment and discrimination
Perform data entry and prepare reports utilizing SAP
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business related discipline or Human Resources required.
Master's Degree preferred.
PHR or SPHR or other HR certifications preferred.
Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Must be able to handle and prioritize a demanding workload.
Must have experience conducting employee relation investigations
Must be able to work independently and be results oriented with minimal supervision on evening shift
Thoroughly proficient in PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
4-6 years of Human Resources experience
Manufacturing experience highly preferred
Experience with regulatory compliance with EEOC, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FLSA, and other state or federal laws
Proficient with SAP or comparable HRIS system
Education/Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business related discipline or Human Resources required
Master's Degree preferred
PHR or SPHR or other HR certifications preferred
