Qualifications


  • 4 years of experience required for entry into this role; UI and visual design experience who have experience designing complex solutions for eCommerce B2B websites, B2C websites, and web applications.

  • Experience with responsive web design, mobile, and web application designs

  • Experience using design tools such as Figma and Adobe Suite for creating highly-detailed mockups

  • Experience with Digital Design Systems and Style Guides

  • Well-rounded knowledge of design principles, reusable components, patterns, and techniques

  • In-depth knowledge of web development with the familiarity of multi-platform development techniques

  • Familiarity with user interface patterns for mobile and desktop

  • Be open to receiving feedback and making revisions

  • Help brainstorm and plan upcoming features based on customer/stakeholder feedback

  • Experience creating and testing web designs for cross-platform and cross-browser support

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process and creating stories and tasks within the Agile board using JIRA

  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize your work


Additional Preferred Skills:



  • Experience using tools such as Sketch, InDesign, Keynote or other prototyping tools to communicate and present ideas



  • Presentation skills and the ability to facilitate workshops to gather journey maps and experience details

  • Familiarity with developer tools, HTML, and CSS

  • The ability to sketch and generate big-picture ideas for early-stage UX work



  • Knowledge of web optimization principles

Job Description

As a UI Designer, you'll work directly with the design team to create a responsive desktop and mobile designs for Agilent's corporate website. You're innovative, quick-thinking, and know what's happening in the online design space. Your interaction design skills are second to none, and you have a knack for delivering simple, clear, and useful experiences for Agilent.com customers and users.


What you'll do:



  • Interact extensively with product owners, business sponsors, and industry experts to serve as the voice of the user while accommodating customer needs and technical requirements

  • Understand user needs for desktop and mobile website design

  • Apply and continue to evolve the Agilent Design System, color theory, typography, iconography, branding, imagery, and design principles

  • Effectively communicate interaction and design ideas and clearly explain the rationale for design decisions to cross-functional peers

  • Collaborate with design team, PO, and stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and implement innovative visual experiences

  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final specifications

  • Conceptualize ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design challenges

  • Create concept mockups and effectively communicate interaction and design ideas to teams, stakeholders, and developers

  • Establish and promote design guidelines and best practices in the Agilent digital style guide

  • Continuously stay up-to-date with the latest UI/visual trends, techniques, and technologies

  • Participate in discoveries, release planning, grooming, stand-ups, validation testing, UAT, launch and post-release support as needed
