Job DescriptionThe production coordinator ensures that customer's required products are produced on time in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. The production coordinator's role includes managing inventory levels in order to reduce waste and minimize storage costs, communicating with internal and external customers and meeting the efficiency needs of operations. In conjunction with other members of the management team, the production coordinator insures that Stratas Foods produces a quality product in a timely fashion.
Responsibilities of a Coordinator:
1. Produce a daily schedule, which minimizes cost and waste while maximizing operation's ability to work productively and produce the product in time for shipments from the plant and outside warehouse.
2. Manage inventory levels to reduce old age/hold product and minimize storage costs.
3. Using excellent interpersonal skills, work effectively as a team member within the planning group as well as within cross-functional groups.
4. Communicate issues affecting planning, operations, customer service and raw materials to all cross-functional groups.
5. Use prescribed planning tools and protocols efficiently with strong attention to detail to eliminate errors in planning outputs.
6. Cross-train and be able to backup any Materials Management position.
7. Embrace the principles of continuous improvement both within the job held and across the business when practical. Develop approaches and methods that reduce the time required for completing work assignments, provide tools to improve the planning process and that reduce the risk of error in the planning output.
8. Adapt to an ever changing product/business demand by monitoring customer and production trends.
QualificationsEducation:1- 2 years of college is preferred but degree is not required.
Related Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience working in planning or other business/ manufacturing position.
Equipment/Software Skills:Proficient use of Microsoft Office including extensive experience in developing and use of spreadsheets, word, email and PowerPoint. Experience writing reports using software based on SQL. Experience working with AS400 and Prism.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:Prefer (Not Required): APICS certification (CPIM, CIRM, CFPIM, CSCP), SPSM (Senior Professional in Supply Management), CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager)
