Credit Officer - Private Banking at BROWN BROTHERS HARRIMAN in New York, New York

Job Description:

The Credit Officer will support and work with all members of the Credit department on Credit Administration activities including monitoring existing lending relationships, underwriting new credit opportunities, and analyzing the underlying dynamics of the loan portfolio. This position offers high visibility to both Partners and officers throughout the line of business.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Monitoring/Underwriting

*Works with credit officers/partners and loan officers in Private Banking and Administration to underwrite new credit opportunities.

*Provide advice to relationship managers on how best to structure appropriate loans for the portfolio.

*Represents Credit at Credit Committee meetings.

*Anticipates potential risks to the bank by proactively monitoring existing lending relationships.

*Develops analytical tools to help the bank understand the underlying credit risk of the portfolio.

Private Client Loans

*Support the underwriting, monitoring and securitization of our Private Client Loan portfolio.

Collateral Audits

*Work closely with the firm's internal collateral auditor to analyze a client's borrowing base reporting.

Credit Projects

*On an as needed basis, assists with Credit projects involving very detailed analysis and recommendations on portfolio management.

Education level

BA with 5 years Banking experience including a demonstrated understanding of Credit.

Knowledge and skills

Knowledge of financial statement analysis

Outstanding interpersonal skills/ability to interact with all levels

Strong organization skills

Self-starter

-Superior oral and written communication skills
