Your Responsibilities

As a ( Data Scientist) for (Parts Pricing) located in (Rock Island, IL), you will....


  • Work with data sets and performs appropriate analytical methodology to provide insights and decision modeling for the pricing engine.
  • Create and implements algorithms which manage the data to enable it to be analyzed in an efficient manner.
  • Support the identification of the required data sources and works with Data Wranglers and/or IT to implement methodologies to retrieve and use this data.
  • Apply analytical techniques to prospect for parts pricing insights and find patterns in data which could be valuable for parts pricing.

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)


  • 4 or more years of experience as a Data Scientist and/or Data Engineer at the enterprise level with strong familiarity/experience with programming for data analysis, ideally Python, SQL, or R (High)
  • 4 or more years - Solid oral and written communication skills, especially around analytical concepts and methods (Medium)
  • 4 or more years - Basic Knowledge on software development principles and architecture
  • 4 or more years - Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • 4 or more years - Ability to break down and understand complex business problems, define a solution and implement it using advanced quantitative methods
  • 4 or more years - Great work ethic and intellectual curiosity
  • 2-4 years of exposure to Cloud technologies such as AWS and/or Google Cloud
  • Experience with SAS or a similar tool is nice to have (not required)
  • 4 or more years of experience successfully interfacing with key stakeholders along with a strong ability to be highly collaborative and be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills and have experience working with customers across the globe

You will also need:


  • 4 or more years - Solid oral and written communication skills, especially around analytical concepts and methods (Medium)
  • 4 or more years - Great work ethic and intellectual curiosity (High)
  • 4 or more years - Knowledge of Cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud (High)
  • 4 or more years - Must be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills and have experience working with customers across the globe (Medium)

What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)


  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist working with large amounts of data, preferably in a pricing area
  • Very strong data analysis and mathematical skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
  • Analytical mind with strong business acumen and a passion for working in a highly collaborative team that is high visibility
  • Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to interface with people at the Director and Executive level

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, statistics, operations research, quantitative social science)
